Frequently Asked Questions!

GENERAL FAQ

Why are your prices the way that they are?

We price this way because not only do we bring to the table over two decades worth of experience, we make you the ultimate priority. While our goal is to deliver to you phenomenal photos, but also, an unforgettably positive experience when you work with us. It also helps to mention the cost of expenses such as programs for editing and retouching, customer relationship management services, marketing, the time spent consulting with clients, collaborating with vendors, website upkeep, social media management, education, preparation in brainstorming the vision, set-up, traveling expenses, props, insurance, etc. We also invest in state-of-the-art photography equipment.

We know how in this age how fast life moves. Photos are timeless. We’re serious about what we do, and we’re honored that you chose to work with us.

Are your prices negotiable?

Unfortunately, unless we are running an advertised sale or discount, our prices listed on our website for packages are non-negotiable. If you have a specific photography request that does not fall under a package on our website, please reach out to us and we can give you a quote.

Do you send me all the photos you take?

We do not. We remove duplicated images, test shots, missed focused shots (unless, of course, they are artistically intentional and desired), or other shots with unfavorable or unflattering expressions that would overall diminish our final deliverable gallery to you. Instead, we personally comb through each and every photo we take to choose the best, so you aren’t figuring out which ones pass the test or not. The number of images you receive is based off the package you choose and verified in the contract.

What photo format do you deliver?

For our clients, you will receive photos in full resolution .jpg format downloadable via internet. At the moment, we do not offer unedited RAW as part of any package.

Can I buy RAW?

We can only sell RAW if you buy the copyright to the photos, which we reserve the right to refuse.

Do I own the photos?

All photos captured by Studio Blume are copyright under Studio Blume LLC, 2023.

Clients are free to download, print, and share online (w/ due credit). Clients retain unlimited personal non-commercial use of the photos.

Clients are, however, not allowed to edit, claim as their own, sell prints of, distribute licenses, or make money in any way off photos taken by Studio Blume.

Are your photos watermarked?

No, our photos are not watermarked when we deliver to clients.

Can you shoot in film?

Although we have experience in 35mm, as well as medium to large format film photography, the processing of this film is time consuming, expensive, and requires access to a lab and chemicals which is limited (all expensive but rewarding!). This type of job is custom and a service we most likely cannot offer at this time. However, please do not hesitate to reach out. If we have enough interest, we can prioritize our goals to offer this service in the future.

Do you provide videography?

We do not provide professional videography directly from our studio at the moment, but we are happy to make suggestions for fantastic videographers that we’ve worked with before.

Do you shoot quinceañeras, debutants, bar/bat mitzahs, etc. or corporate events?

Yes! We would love to cover your celebration. Please refer here for [pricing.]

WEDDINGS

I’m interested in you. Where do we begin?

We’re so glad you’re interested! Please contact us through our form [here] or reach out via text / call at (864)300-4792.

We will respond within 2 business days on when would be a perfect time to get to know each other, either in person, or through Zoom or Facetime. Consultations typically last approximately 45 minutes to an hour long, or shorter if the questionnaire is filled out.

We’ll talk about you, your partner, how you met, the love story we’re so eager to know—we’ll just get to know each other! We’re here to also answer any additional questions you have as well as well as verify the info on the questionnaire.

If you’re comfortable, we will go over the contract, which will most likely cover the majority of questions you may have.

What’s your approach? How do you work with the couple?

Our approach depends entirely upon your desires, but we are very much involved (as much as you want us to be!). During our consultation and communications afterward, we will stay in close touch to go over our plan for stages and where we fit in to your wedding vision and timeline.

Can we see examples?

Yes, you can view selected weddings we’ve done in the past in our portfolio [here]. These are not representative of an entire gallery you will receive from us.

How do you collaborate with other vendors?

We depend on you to provide all the correct and updated information for all your vendors where applicable. We like to introduce ourselves and let them know if there’s anything we need to be mindful when photographing. We also like to recognize their hard work too!

How are images handled, selected, and processed for delivery?

As soon as the wedding is over, photos are immediately backed up on hard-drives. SD Cards will not be formatted until the entirety of the wedding album is uploaded. Images are gone through one-by-one, culled, and the edited to your specification. Both the 10 sample photos and the full album will be available to download in high resolution .jpg format (unless contract says otherwise) online. Flash drives can also be delivered for an additional cost.

When can I expect to have my full wedding album?

Normal delivery times for full albums have a set deadline of 1 month after the wedding date. Every wedding is also guaranteed 10 edited photos within 1 week of the wedding day.

If you need them done sooner, we can give you quotes and dates for a rush order. While we know how eager you may be to see your photos, we also want time to go through each and every photo for quality control and editing.

Why two photographers? My wedding isn’t going to be that big.

Can weddings be done with one photographer? Yes. Do we recommend it? No. Here’s several reasons why.

I have heard countless testimonies of brides who didn’t get the shots of their groom’s reaction as she walked down the aisle, who missed shots x, y, and z. In weddings, moments like these happen in a fraction of a second. Even the most skilled photographers cannot be in two places at once. When you have team, you’re able to capture those moments.

Another reason to have two photographers instead of one is redundancy. A photographer’s worst nightmare are lost and corrupted files, or broken/stolen equipment. While we ensure our process is the standard for data-keeping and safety, having an extra shooter is insurance against this catastrophe.

Another reason is efficiency. We may need lighting equipment to set up, whenever artistically desired, or especially for group shots, reception halls, and other places with low lighting. Having an extra set of hands for prep ensures that we capture those shots in a timely and unobtrusive manner.

Lastly, having a team ensures that you can focus on enjoying your special day as stress-free as possible, without the worries that moments will be missed.

How much does it cost to book a wedding?

Depending on the package, booking requires 50% of total of the package chosen in order for us to save your date. The remaining 50% will be due no later than 1 month before the wedding. Booking fees are nonrefundable.

Do you do destination weddings? If so, what are the additional fees associated with a destination wedding?

While Studio Blume is currently operating in upstate South Carolina, we are pleased to offer destination weddings. We consider destination weddings based on distance from Clemson, SC. Anything longer than 120 miles may qualify as a destination wedding.

Destination weddings may be subject to additional fees dependent on distance and accommodations that begin at the Platinum package pricing, which will require a personalized quote.

These additional fees will cover traveling (either through car or airfare) for two people in our team, baggage fees, approved hotel accommodations within a reasonable distance from the wedding with a two night minimum (depending on the length of the wedding), rental car for three days minimum (depending on location and length of the wedding), vendor meals for the day of the event, and a per diem of $140 combined for Studio Blume's meals for travel days not covering the wedding.

Please contact us [here] so we can give you a more accurate quote based on location and length of your wedding and we will respond within 2 business days. Thank you!
